Describe your immediate Spring/Summer Preview collection.

Our Spring 2014 line has a very gypsy-like, free kind of vibe. We are feeling a lot of crochet and tie dye work and all of our styles have a goddess feel to them. We have a lot of dresses which have made a huge comeback and you will be seeing more and more of them.


What is one “must-have” item from this collection?

Spring: maxi skirts and dresses. Fall: beautiful knit sweaters and novelty jackets.


How does the brand go about deciding which trends are important each season?

We travel around the world seeing how all the different markets are trending. We also focus on runway and translate their designs for our Vintage Havana customer. Seeing how trends are worn throughout other countries is a major study guide for our development process.


What are some of your favorite retailers in the U.S. that currently carry your line?

Some of our favorites are Bloomingdale’s, Lester’s, and E Street Denim.


How do you feel social media has impacted your business?

Social media is the new word of mouth! When something is great and people love it you can instantly see the reaction online. All trends and items are at our customer’s fingertips and we need to make sure we do our best to keep up and make our customers happy.


What is the best advice you have ever received?

“You are only as good as your last season.” This motto has kept us focused on moving forward and constant with trends while making a name for ourselves. Everyone knows Vintage Havana and we want to keep it that way. The minute you take a break you’ve lost valuable time.


How would you define your city’s fashion?

New York City is the greatest city in the world and of course it’s the fashion capital! This city is fearless, playful and adventurous just like our clothing. There is nothing more inspiring than the fashion in this city!
