Describe your immediate Fall/winter Preview 2013 collection.

Booties continue to be everyday wear for the BC girl and we want to give her many ways to incorporate this versatile footwear style into her wardrobe. We’re seeing them in every area of trend; from mod inspired Beatle booties to Western embroidered pull-ons.

What is one “must-have” item from this collection?

Flat oxfords are our must-have because they are an option that is more substantial than ballerina flats. They are also a great way to incorporate the edgy menswear inspired look that is making huge waves in the fashion trend space.

How do you go about deciding which trends are important for the season?

It’s crucial to have a good understanding of your consumer and we do that by continually shopping and staying current on what’s happening in the market. After shopping the market, we try to tap into our consumer and make sure we follow trends that are only relevant to BC girls. We also communicate with them as much as possible through social media in order to better understand the direction and world they live and shop in.

If you could dress a celebrity who you feel fits your product image, who would it be and why?

Emma Roberts because she has a great sense of herself with a youthful quirk that epitomizes the essence of who the BC girl is.

What is your personal fashion philosophy?

Dress for your mood and dress for the kind of day you want to have. Numerous times after I’ve left the house my outfit wasn’t quite right for the location, or my shoes were uncomfortable and it greatly affected my mood and outlook for the day. It’s a great thing when you feel comfortable with yourself on the inside and out.

What three items are essential to you during market week?

Three essential items during market week are water to keep hydrated, red lipstick to reapply whenever necessary and comfortable shoes.
