Describe your Immediate Holiday/Resort 2012-13 Collection. 

This collection can be described as fun, colorful, and full of metal and great fabrics.

What is one “must-have” item from this collection?

The reverse heel is a “must-have.”

How do you go about deciding which trends are important for the season?

I’m inspired by art, pop culture, literature, and great thinkers.

What is your brand doing to address the growing importance of social media and how do you feel it will impact your business?

We are a new company, so we will be putting up a website shortly. We also plan on tweeting daily thoughts from Penny Sue & The Shoe Guru on shoe topics as well as life experience. For example: Gandhi once said, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” Penny Sue & The Shoe Guru say, “Change to our shoes and the world will see you!” As for impact, we look at our business not just as a product, but a social experience.

If you could dress a celebrity who you feel fits your product image, who would it be and why?

Taylor Swift because she conveys many different fashion looks; fun, young, sexy, and sophisticated. She is also an independent spirit who writes her own songs that always have something to say.

What is your personal fashion philosophy?

Fashion is more than about what you look like; it’s really about how it makes you feel.

What three items are essential to you during market week?

Three essentials are sneakers, the reverse heel and the pointed toe, kitten metal heel.
